A lot of sites out there talk about the tools. A lot of sites out there talk about the strategies. But we wanted to build a site that talked about the campaigns themselves. Lots of ‘em. So that in time, as more information is shared amongst the readership, we all become smarter marketers and adopt a set of best practices that are fairly universal, yet always changing.
Scott Perry has worked in the music industry since high school, doing everything from driving baby bands like Pearl Jam and Rage Against the Machine around New Orleans in his station wagon as a college rep, running the highly respected resource New Music Tipsheet.
In addition to his love of music, Scott has always been a fan of marketing. And the world has changed so much in recent years, he thought it would be a good idea to shine a light on those campaigns that are changing the way we communicate, the way we reach and build audiences in the modern age.
The goal of MKTGideas.com is to provide a platform for marketers to showcase these new initiatives, so that we all may learn and bump the game up a bit. And for anyone worried about revealing too much or having someone take your ideas – this site is not for you. The modern world of marketing is changing so rapidly that today’s big idea can be yesterday’s news in the blink of an eye; the best any of us can do is to contribute our expertise to a larger canon of ideas, so that tomorrow’s big idea is even bigger than today’s.
