Marketing Panels at SXSWi (Tuesday March 16) — A Quick Look

Almost there!  This is the day when Interactive & Movies wrap up, and Music slowly starts to roll in for a week chock-full of bands, beers, and barbecue.  You’ll notice a lot more game- and music-oriented panels this day, plus a few more hippies and hipsters roaming the streets than in the days prior.  So here we go for a victory lap of panels to ease you through the end — unless, of course, you happen to stick around Austin all the way through the weekend to enjoy the cornerstone of the conference, MUSIC, which officially kicks off Wednesday.  Here’s what’s up on Tuesday March 16:

NextNewNetworks member BarelyDigital.com’s THE KEY OF AWESOME has partnered with Weezer to offer a cameo in the next Weezer video for the creator of the funniest video of 2009.  Entrants simply submit a YouTube link to Key Of Awesome by January 27.    KoA picks the 12 funniest, fans pick the winning finalist.  Click here for details.

Team up with a celebrity, host a fan-generated content contest to boost views by peer votes, get the word out via guy- and music-related blogs.  Site gets traffic, celebrity gets publicity — ol’ skool, but it works.
